22 Years of Industry Insight

Our founder spent over two decades in the HVAC industry before recognizing that homeowners needed an advocate — someone who understands the technical landscape and speaks plainly about it.

A Network Built on Standards

Every professional in our network meets strict criteria for licensing, insurance, customer satisfaction, and ethical business practices. We remove anyone who doesn't uphold those standards.

No High-Pressure Tactics

We believe informed homeowners make better decisions. That's why every interaction is educational first. You'll never receive an aggressive follow-up or feel rushed into a commitment.

Florida-Specific Expertise

Southwest Florida's climate is unlike anywhere else in the country. Our guidance is built around the unique challenges of coastal humidity, salt air, and year-round heat that SWFL homeowners face.

Free, Always

Our assessment and guidance services are completely free to homeowners. We're compensated through a modest referral arrangement with our vetted network — only when a homeowner chooses to move forward.

FAQ

Common Questions

We believe transparency builds trust. Here are the questions we hear most often — answered honestly.

Yes, completely. Our assessment, guidance, and consultation services cost you nothing. We receive a modest referral fee from the professionals in our network — only when a homeowner chooses to move forward with them. This creates no obligation on your part.

No. Elite Comfort SWFL is a home comfort referral network and consumer resource. We don't sell or install anything. We exist to help homeowners understand their options and connect with qualified professionals they can trust.

We conduct ongoing reviews and remove anyone who doesn't maintain these standards.

HVAC Replacement

Making a Confident Decision About Your HVAC System

The most expensive home comfort decision most people make — and the one where honest, independent guidance matters most.

The Real Signs

When Repair Becomes the Wrong Answer

The HVAC industry earns more money on repairs than replacements. That's why it's so important to have an independent perspective when your system starts struggling.

  • Your system is 12 or more years old and requiring frequent repairs
  • Repair costs are approaching 50% of replacement cost
  • Energy bills have been rising despite no change in usage
  • Your home never reaches or maintains your desired temperature
  • Some rooms are significantly warmer or cooler than others
  • The system uses R-22 refrigerant (now phased out and very expensive)
  • You're experiencing increased humidity inside despite the AC running

A note from our founder: "The single biggest mistake I watched homeowners make for 22 years was spending $2,000–$4,000 repairing a 14-year-old system, only to replace it a year later anyway. An honest assessment early saves money and stress."

Cost Considerations

Understanding What You're Really Paying For

HVAC quotes vary enormously — sometimes by $4,000 or more for the same job. Understanding what drives those differences helps you evaluate proposals accurately.

System Efficiency Rating (SEER2)

Higher-efficiency systems cost more upfront but less to operate. In our climate, where systems run 10–11 months a year, efficiency matters significantly.

Brand vs. Installation Quality

The quality of installation is often more important than the brand of equipment. A premium brand installed poorly will underperform a mid-tier brand installed by an excellent technician.

What Should Be Included

  • Removal and disposal of the old system
  • New refrigerant lines if the old ones show wear
  • Thermostat upgrade
  • Electrical inspection and code-required updates
  • Manufacturer and labor warranties
  • Post-installation testing and commissioning

Humidity Control

Southwest Florida's Hidden Comfort Problem — and the Premium Solution

If your air conditioning is running but your home still feels muggy, something important is missing from your comfort system.

The Problem

Why Your AC Is Not a Dehumidifier

Most homeowners assume their air conditioning system controls humidity. It does — but only incidentally, as a side effect of cooling. In Southwest Florida, where outdoor humidity regularly sits at 80–90%, that's simply not enough.

Standard AC systems cycle on and off based on temperature targets — not humidity targets. On mild days, your system might barely run, and humidity climbs inside your home without the temperature triggering a response.

The Consequences of Unchecked Humidity

  • Mold growth behind walls, in closets, and in ductwork
  • Musty odors that return no matter how much you clean
  • Wood furniture, cabinetry, and flooring that warps over time
  • A "clammy" feel that makes even 74°F feel uncomfortable
  • Increased allergy and asthma symptoms
  • Damage to artwork, musical instruments, and collectibles

The EPA recommends maintaining indoor relative humidity between 30–50%. Most Southwest Florida homes without dedicated dehumidification regularly exceed 60% — well into the range where mold thrives.

The Solution

Whole-Home Dehumidification

A whole-home dehumidifier is a premium, dedicated appliance that integrates directly into your HVAC system and continuously manages moisture — independent of whether your AC is running.

Unlike portable units that cover a single room, a whole-home system operates automatically, handles your entire home's square footage, and drains directly into your plumbing.

What to Expect

  • Humidity maintained precisely at your target level (typically 45–50%)
  • Dramatically reduced musty odors
  • More comfortable temperatures — humidity affects how warm air feels
  • Reduced reliance on AC in mild weather
  • Protection for your home's structure and finishes

Investment Range

Whole-home dehumidifiers typically range from $1,800–$3,500 installed. For many homeowners, this represents one of the highest-ROI comfort investments available.

Indoor Air Quality

The Air Inside Your Home May Be More Polluted Than the Air Outside

Research consistently shows that indoor air can contain significantly higher concentrations of pollutants than outdoor air. For families spending 80–90% of their time indoors, this matters enormously.

MERV 13+
Filtration rating that captures most fine particles and allergens
What's In Your Air

Common Indoor Pollutants in Florida Homes

Biological Contaminants

  • Mold spores (especially prevalent in humid climates)
  • Dust mites and their waste products
  • Pet dander and pollen
  • Bacteria and viruses

Chemical Pollutants

  • VOCs from furniture, flooring, and cleaning products
  • Off-gassing from carpets and paints
  • Combustion byproducts

Allergy symptoms, frequent headaches, fatigue without clear cause, and respiratory irritation that worsens at home but improves when you leave are all signals that indoor air quality deserves attention.

The Solutions

Advanced Air Quality Options

Enhanced Filtration

Upgrading to MERV 13 or higher filtration removes the vast majority of airborne particles. Often the first and most cost-effective step.

UV-C Air Purification

Ultraviolet light systems installed in your ductwork neutralize airborne microorganisms — bacteria, mold spores, and certain viruses — without chemicals or filters to replace.

Electronic Air Cleaners

Whole-home electronic air cleaners use an electrical charge to capture ultrafine particles that standard filters miss.

Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV)

ERV systems introduce controlled fresh air from outside while recovering the energy from outgoing air — addressing air quality at the source without sacrificing efficiency.

About Elite Comfort SWFL

Born From 22 Years of Watching Homeowners Get It Wrong

Not because they weren't smart — but because they had no independent resource to turn to. We decided to be that resource.

Our Founder's Story

22-Year HVAC Industry Veteran · Consumer Advocate · Southwest Florida Resident

After more than two decades working within the HVAC industry — in installation, sales, and management — I saw the same scenario repeat itself thousands of times: homeowners making major financial decisions with incomplete information, guided only by the contractors who stood to profit from their choice.

Some of those homeowners replaced systems that had years of useful life remaining. Others were talked out of replacements they genuinely needed, only to face the same problem six months later after another costly repair.

Elite Comfort SWFL is my answer to that gap. We're not a contractor, and we're not a lead generation service. We're the advisor I wished every one of those homeowners could have had.

"The moment I understood that homeowners needed an advocate more than they needed another sales presentation, everything else became clear."

Our Standards

What We Believe

Homeowners deserve honest information

Before spending thousands of dollars, every homeowner deserves a clear, unbiased picture of their options — not a pitch designed to maximize a contractor's margin.

Installation quality matters as much as equipment

A premium system installed improperly will underperform a mid-tier system installed correctly. Our network is selected for both.

Trust is built through consistency, not marketing

Every professional earns their place through results. There are no exceptions and no favorites.

Southwest Florida deserves a dedicated resource

Our climate is genuinely unique. National averages and generic advice don't apply here. Our guidance is built specifically around SWFL conditions.

For HVAC Professionals

Join Southwest Florida's Most Selective Referral Network

We don't work with every contractor. We work with the best ones — and we provide them with pre-qualified homeowners who are ready to make informed decisions.

What We Offer

High-Quality Referrals, Not Just Leads

There's a meaningful difference between a lead and a referral. A lead is a contact. A referral is a homeowner who has been educated about their options, has expressed genuine intent, and has been told specifically why we're connecting them with you.

What You Receive

  • Homeowner's completed comfort assessment before your first contact
  • Context on their specific concerns and decision timeline
  • Homeowner's awareness that you're a vetted professional
  • Exclusive or near-exclusive introductions — no mass-bidding
  • Marketing support through our website and content channels
Our Standards

What We Require From Our Network

Licensing & Insurance

Valid Florida contractor license, general liability insurance, and workers' compensation — verified annually.

Verified Customer Satisfaction

Documented history of positive homeowner experiences and complaint resolution practices.

Transparent Pricing Practices

Written, itemized proposals. No post-installation surprises. Our homeowners are educated buyers.

Commitment to Quality Installation

Technical proficiency and follow-through, verified through homeowner feedback after every referral.
